Cricket – For the first time in the history of Children’s home a six a side cricket tournament was organized for the children of children’s homes in the Western Province. The tournament was organized by Vajira Sri Children’s Development Centre. This was a concept of Ven. Dr. Hunupolagama Vajira Sri Thero which became a reality on the 29th of April 2014.

30 teams both girls as well as boys participated for the tournament. As a follow-up of the programme plans are underway to conduct a Inter Provincial six a side cricket tournament for both girls and boys. The winners of the provincial tournament will compete at the National Level six a side tournament which will be conducted to commemorate International Children’s Day which falls in October.
